VERSAFI MAGAZINE: TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESSES
LAKISHA MOSLEY: I have 3 businesses. I have my blog where I feature women in business and blog about various topics such as family, relationships, and business. I have my event management company, The LM Experience. My main responsibility is to make sure that your event is executed to the highest level to create a great experience for your guests. I have a podcast called Convo with Kisha where I feature entrepreneurs from all over the world who teach on various topics from money management to selling.
VERSAFI: THE LM EXPERIENCE SOUNDS VERY INTERESTING. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START THAT?
LAKISHA: After I had planned my 5-year vow renewal, I got the planning bug. Shortly after that, I started my company and it took off. I managed to build relationships with the people who had assisted with my vow renewal and we are still connected today.
VERSAFI: WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR CLIENTS TO TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR BUSINESS?
LAKISHA: I want clients to know that their events will be fully executed with no issues. I am their chaos coordinator! My team and I will ensure your event is a great experience.
VERSAFI: YOUR PODCAST “CONVOS WITH KISHA” INTERVIEWS AUTHOR AND ENTREPRENEURS ALL OVER. WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION WHEN CREATING THE SHOW?
LAKISHA: It was fun interviewing people for my blog however the readers couldn’t hear how much fun we had nor the interaction between me and my guests. I wanted my audience to hear that and experience it as well. So I decided to start a podcast and launched it on Father’s Day last year.
VERSAFI: WHAT IS YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE?
LAKISHA: My target audience is women 25-35 years old. They are mainly entrepreneurs, small business owners, and high-level professionals or executives.
VERSAFI: I SEE THAT YOU HAVE PARTNERED WITH GLAMBITIOUS ON A FEW OCCASIONS AS A SPEAKER. WHAT OTHER COLLABORATION PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY DOING?
LAKISHA: Yes and it has been a blessing to link up with Lillie Mae and her Glambitious brand. I just finished two virtual events this past week. One was with Ebbi Nicole and Goddess Webster for the All Things Digital E-Summit. The other one was the BuildHers Virtual Conference with Raven Silas of Black Women Build. I’m collaborating with Taneisha Johnson, Pastor Robert Johnson and Pastor Kelvin Cox on mental health issues. I just partnered with GoDaddy to assist with offering their products to my audience. Lots of things in the works; not all are solidified at this time. Fingers crossed!!
VERSAFI: THE PANDEMIC HAS AFFECTED A LOT OF BUSINESS OWNERS SAND ENTREPRENEURS. HAS IT AFFECTED YOUR BUSINESS ANY?
LAKISHA: Yes of course! I’m not sure of any businesses that haven’t been affected by this pandemic. However, as someone who does live and in-person events, this pandemic rocked my industry. Most of my events got canceled or were scaled down to virtual events. I quickly had to pivot my business and help my clients do that as well with their events.
VERSAFI: ARE THERE ANY CURRENT PROJECTS YOU ARE WORKING ON?
LAKISHA: Yes I have several projects that I’m working on. I conduct weekly business webinars with entrepreneurs where they discuss their subject matter with my audience. I have several mental health webinars and virtual events planned; coming very soon. And of course, virtual events for my clients.
VERSAFI: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANY UP AND COMING BUSINESS OWNERS OR ENTREPRENEURS THAT WANT TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS?
LAKISHA: Know your why and keep it in the forefront of your mind. Never give up and stay the course. When it gets tough, and it will remember that WHY and keep going. Always keep God first in all you do. Make Him the CEO of your life and your business.
VERSAFI: HOW CAN READERS CONNECT WITH YOU?
LAKISHA: I’m on all social media platforms for my blog as @lakishammosley. For my event management company, @thelmexperience except Twitter its @lmexperience. For the podcast, @convowithkisha
