“No matter how bad our past was, we have a new identity and a new life in Christ”.
Patrice: How did your journey as an author began?
Robert: I had a desire to start writing books, so I started writing about 4 years ago and recently decided to go ahead and finish my first book.
Patrice: Was becoming a writer something you always wanted to pursue?
Robert: I guess you can say I always wanted to pursue writing because I’ve always written music and about 4 years ago decided that I wanted to write books
Patrice: What inspired you to write your first book?
Robert: After my sister, Pamela D. Smith, wrote her first book I was inspired to write one.
Patrice: How does it feel to be a published author?
Robert: It feels pretty good. It’s an accomplishment. It’s a goal that I set and achieved so there’s always a good feeling in reaching a goal.
Patrice: Tell us about your experience of self-publishing. What are the pros and cons of it?
Robert: A pro to self-publishing is being able to reach more people. The book can go where I can’t physically go. A con is that you will think about other things that you could have put in the book that you didn’t.
Patrice: Since becoming a published author, what challenges have you faced if any?
Robert: So far, so good. This is my first book and it was just released this month so I haven’t faced any challenges.
Patrice: What message do you want your readers to take away when reading your book?
Robert: No matter how bad our past was, we have a new identity and a new life in Christ.
Patrice: What does being an author mean to you?
Robert: It means I have another avenue of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and another method of winning souls for the Kingdom.
Patrice: If you could co-author with any author dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Robert: Mark Hankins. I enjoy the revelation that he has on who we are in Christ, our authority as believers, and faith in the blood.
Patrice: Do you have a favorite book that you have read in the past?
Robert: The Authority of the Believer by Kenneth E. Hagin
Patrice: Tell us about your marketing strategies as an author.
Robert: Right now, I am doing social media marketing and word of mouth. I will explore other marketing strategies as I move forward.
Patrice: Do you have any current book projects that you are working on?
Robert: Yes, I am currently working on another book right now.
