50-year old Mary J. Blige launched her new brand ‘Sun Goddess Wine’ during the mist of the pandemic. She joined TJ Douglas, founder and co-owner of Boston wine store ‘Urban Grape’ during a virtual event discussing her journey into the industry. Blige stated:
“During the first quarantine, everybody was going through it. I wanted to give something so beautiful to the world at a time when they needed it. It made everyone smile,”
Already seasoned in the world of entrepreneurship, she was in Friuli, Italy three years ago where her journey to the wine industry started. Blige wasn’t about making profits, but about creating something she was passionate about and sharing to the world. in In Italy, Blige put in hours on the Fantinel Winery learning about wine production and tasting the grapes. Sun Goddess collection includes two wines, a pinot grigio ramato (similar to rosé) and a sauvignon blanc. The rosé features peach, melon, and blackberry notes while the sauvignon blanc has tropical and spicy notes of yellow bell pepper, banana, and melon, Wine.com explains.
